West Ham Essex?
Geo and Gonzo discuss what could happen if inventors bought the land around the ground, and new owners built a new ground for us in Essex.

Link: https://youtu.be/7ly64pzBCNE?si=cGxKgZToao5WFi--

If that were to happen, how would that make you feel?

The main argument seems to be that moving could work as Essex is the heartland of our support. However, where in Essex could handle the 60,000 people? Another reason it would be problematic is because where we are ships in people from different parts of the south-east. Moving to Essex makes that journey difficult for people.

Personally I think it would be an horrific idea. I’m an East Ender and have no affiliation or attachment to the county, and moving the club further east would be a nail in the coffin of the football club for me. In fact, moving to other parts of East London would be out of the question. Let’s imagine the club decided on a plot of land in Chingford! Technically East London, but no connection to the club or its history.

I haven’t watched this yet but see this being discussed on Twitter yesterday. Seems like the current shareholders are looking to reduce their ownership so a new 25% owner can come in. Look like they are targeting the Arabs.

Not sure on the idea of inventors buying us though.

it pains me enough to see all the lads roll up from southend all decked out in baker boy caps method acting the role of a dodgy east end market trader from the 1950s despite never having lived within the m25, for me to go the other way to see them do it might be the final straw.

In recent years the empty spaces in Dagenham would have made more sense, or there's always the huge green bits of Rainham. Within the M25, still "East" London, where lots of 'old' East Londoners went etc.

In terms of public transport I can't see how it'll ever get better than now. Anywhere else would require huge infrastructure work which would cost a fortune (why would TfL pay for that) and take forever.

Fuck off Essex.

No one is going to buy us. Then move us out of London. (We are slightly bigger than Wimbledon.!) And London is a big attraction for a lot of people. Especially the type of buyer we are hoping too attach. And real killer for anyone thinking about moving us out along the Thames corridor is transport links. The roads are already at breaking point. And as for the rail links. They all lead through Stratford. And nothing is in the planning too make anything around South Essex anything near as serviceable in our lifetime.!

I can someone (not our current owners) relocating the training ground out to Essex but I can't see us moving from the LS anytime soon.

I was born in Plaistow.
Up until 1965 it was classed as being in Essex what a load of old bollocks.

wouldn't work - and would likely kill off lots of other smaller clubs.
An absolute non-starter for me, despite the amusement it would cause me on here.

Having said all of that, anything that gets us out of the current shithole is to be applauded.

The clubs looking for a training ground in Essex. They ain't looking to move the clubs stadium out to Essex . It's clickbait at its finest from hammers chat . No wonder so many people I know hate the fan channels .

Re: West Ham Essex?
The stadium is losing something like 24m a year and when Labour get in they want shot of it, possibly selling / giving it to us or selling the land to the Qataris to redevelop in to flats, so looks like something is going to happen.

Re: West Ham Essex?
Give it few more years the government will be chucking our owners the keys to the OS for nothing then we can actually try and turn it into a football stadium.

Re: West Ham Essex?
Also hearing we are looking for an investor to buy 25% (Gold's shares?) So it appears something is going on.
Kretinsky was not the Messiah it seems otherwise surely he'd snap them up and become the major shareholder.

stewie griffin 6:25 Wed Mar 20
Re: West Ham Essex?
kretinsky was never the messiah - in fact he caused more problems than he solved by buying in at a fucking ridiculous price which essentially set Sullivan's valuation of the club and the remaining shares.

If he could find a willing buyer, he'd be gone quickly. That we're available isn't news, its been out there for over a year, but people that actually know anything don't have YouTube channels or TWITTER

Re: West Ham Essex?
A large proportion of our support do not live in Essex but Kent, Surrey, Buckinghamshire and all over London. Some even come from far away Devon etc.

It would be the end of me going and thousands of others. Got to be a non-starter.
